フェラガモはヨーロッパのシューズを中心とした高級ブランドですが、メンズアイテムについても充実しているのがひとつの特徴です。

レディスウェアコレクションについては、創始者サルバトーレ・フェラガモの次女であるジョヴァンナ・フェラガモが1958年に最初のコレクションを発表して以来、次世代をグレエム・ブラックが中興の祖として引き継ぎ、最近はクリスティーナ・オルティスがレディスのチーフとなって発展させていますが、メンズに関していえば、シューズアイテムを1965年から展開させたことから始まっています。

メンズウエア類については2005年にマッシミリアーノ・ジョルネッティがメンズウェアラインのデザイナーに就任してから本格化した経緯があります。

このデザイナーとなったマッシミリアーノ・ジョルネッティは1971年のイタリア生まれで、フィレンツェのデザイン学校であるポリモーダでファッションデザインコースを卒業した純粋なイタリアンで、当初はアントン・ジュリオ・グランデ社に入社していました。

2000年よりサルヴァトーレ・フェラガモ・イタリア社に入社し、その頭角を現してきた秘蔵っ子です。

シューズについてはフェラガモ長年の実績を基に技術力に裏打ちされたメンズアイテムが展開され、当然高い評価も受けています。

そんなプレッシャーをものともしないかのように、マッシミリアーノ・ジョルネッティは腕を振い、メンズウエア類でもフェラガモの名が脚光を浴びるようになっているのはさすがですね。

ところで、メンズのおしゃれといえば以前から財布類が結構重要なアイテムとなっていますが、フェラガモのメンズ財布は現在かなり人気が高いものとなっています。
